Unplanned Pregnancy, Abortion, and the Holidays

aspire women

While the holiday season can be filled with parties, decorations, cozy sweaters, and everything peppermint, if you’re facing a pregnancy decision or have an abortion scheduled, you’re probably feeling anything but festive.

If you are wondering, Should I wait to make an appointment until after the holidays are over? - you are not alone. We’ll help you navigate this season and your pregnancy options so you can enjoy the holidays without feeling anxious or overwhelmed.

First, Know For Sure

If you have not yet had a pregnancy confirmation appointment, don’t start stressing about a possible pregnancy, pregnancy decision, or abortion unless you have had an ultrasound performed. An ultrasound can 100% confirm a pregnancy and how far along you are. Approximately 15-25% of pregnancies end in a miscarriage and an ultrasound can also confirm if the pregnancy is viable or not.

Don’t Rush a Decision

If you’ve already confirmed your pregnancy and are considering an abortion, take the time you need to make an empowered and informed choice. The holidays can sometimes cause women to rush decisions so it’s “over and done with.” While there can be immediate relief, a pregnancy decision can cause complex emotions and you deserve a chance to sort through those feelings without the added pressure of the holidays.

At your options consultation appointment, we can share more information about the abortion pill, abortion procedures, pregnancy and development, adoption, parenting resources, and more.

Note: If you are considering the abortion pill or looking for information on early abortion options, we can schedule you for an ultrasound as soon as possible. We understand that you may feel under pressure to make an immediate decision depending on how far along you are.

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay

You probably already know this, but you don’t need to have all the answers about your future. Fear may shout that the elimination of uncertainty is the only way to find peace. That’s simply not true! When fear seeks to suffocate, remember that you are not alone, you are strong, and you’ve overcome challenging things before.

Take a deep breath, exhale, and do the next right thing. You are not responsible for having tomorrow's answers today.

Surround Yourself With Support

Although we don’t recommend making a rushed decision, we do recommend making an appointment right away. Learning more about your options can help eliminate stress and worry and help you feel more in control of your circumstances. We can also give you the answers you need to feel confident and empowered.

When you need people in your corner that will support you during life’s messiest moments, that’s us. No shame, no judgment, just support, options, and compassionate care.

Don’t wait. Make an appointment today. You’ve got this and we’ve got your back.
